OVEG

Dalmine LS has constructed a self-supporting structure for Oveg.
Oveg is one of the seven agricultural companies under the “VIP” organization, an association that has brought together fruit and vegetable producers in Val Venosta since 1990. Operating as an agricultural cooperative and non-profit organization, VIP is committed to maintaining excellence in service and products, with a particular focus on sustainability in its processes.
Oveg, with 250 members and 110 employees, annually cultivates and harvests over 48,000 tons of apples, apricots, cherries, pears, berries, and vegetables.

Requirements

Oveg aimed to qualitatively improve the management of harvested products. Logistically, this objective translated into a storage solution capable of optimizing workflows, increasing, and enhancing the flexibility of warehouse operations.

Our solutions

The solution we developed took the form of a 30-meter-high self-supporting structure for the temperature-controlled storage of over 18.000 plastic crates. This structure can accommodate a total of 30 million apples within a 1.800 sqm footprint. Automated handling, facilitated by the use of 5 stacker cranes, further enhances operational functionality with utmost safety and adherence to seismic standards.

This is the second facility of such scale that Dalmine LS has built in Val Venosta for VIP members!
