Seismic-Resistant Shuttle Rack
The Seismic-Resistant Shuttle Shelving system was designed for Barilla, an Italian family food company founded in 1877. The company is now an international group operating in over 100 countries and exporting 1.9 million tons of products. Leader for pasta and sauces in continental Europe, for bakery products in Italy and for crispbreads in Scandinavia, the Barilla Group is known worldwide as a symbol of the Italian know-how.
Inaugurated by the then Prime Minister Mario Monti, Barilla's factory in Rubbiano (PR), specialising in the production of sauces, needed a logistics department able to cope with ever-increasing flows in order to support shipments.
The solution designed and built by Dalmine LS was a seismic-resistant shuttle shelving system. The structure occupies a floor area of just 300 square metres, is supported by front-mounted trolleys and can store up to 15 pallets deep per aisle. The seismic-resistant shuttle shelving system is the perfect solution for high-level pallet handling, optimising the floor space and allowing intensive product storage.
