Dalmine LS has produced a pallet racking system for Sogedim, a company with over 35 years' experience in the world of national and international transport and integrated logistics. Based in Mesero in the Milan hinterland, Sogedim offers efficient, functional and customised transport solutions, thanks to its highly qualified staff: these characteristics make the company one of the main players on the market.

Requirement

The considerable growth and development of the company, both nationally and internationally, has brought about the need to expand the storage space available. For this reason, a new building of more than 50,000 square metres, Mesero 2, was built to house the pallet racking unit. Sogedim's requirement was to find a partner who could support them with their vision of the future.

Solution

Sogedim relied on Dalmine LS to structure the new building to meet its current and future logistical needs.

The first supply reached 33,000 pallet spaces on five loading levels (plus ground). The customer's objective is to double the storage capacity in a few months in order to guarantee excellent logistics performance for its customers.

The structure, serviced by reach trucks, reaches a height of 12 metres and is entirely made of Sendzimir hot galvanized steel.
