Commer Carta
For 35 years Commer Carta has been selecting and cutting in special format the finest paperforms for packaging and graphic applications of the most important European paper mills: virgin or recycled fiber materials, coated or kraft also certified FSC and PEFC, Compostable and suitable for contact with food even without the use of plastics.
From 2021, the company has further expanded its production department with lines dedicated to the coupling of bio-base films or plastics and the application of compostable dispersion coating, providing its boards with an additional surface barrier, whether aesthetic or functional.

Requirements
Thanks to its constant growth, Commer Carta has found the need to expand its storage area at the Opera plant, in the Milan hinterland. The company, always attentive to its human resources and environmental issues, required a storage solution that aligned with its vision. Commer Carta entrusted Dalmine LS to structure its automated warehouse dedicated to the storage of paper rolls.
Our Solutions
After a careful analysis of business processes, it emerged that a fully automated warehouse was the most efficient solution. The multi-depth structure created allows for the storage of over 3.400 rolls, each weighing approximately 1.500 kg, and is serviced by satellites and mother shuttles. Additionally, the structure features 6 loading levels and can hold up to 18 rolls per tunnel.
The accumulation system optimizes the use of the 2.100 square meters of floor space, ensuring excellent safety standards for operators and a low environmental impact. It also allows for inventory movements that adhere to the FIFO (First In, First Out) accounting method and provides immediate information about stock levels and materials running low.
